Nancy Wachowich and I just spent 4 days working on my old Arctic field work, scanning all my photos of Igloolik, Hall Beach and Broughton Island, giggling at my 24 year old self's diaries, and generally enthusing about northern Canada, with time for a jaunt to Lincoln and a visit to Meghna our lovely Indian retsuarant in Gainsborough.
At Weston Park Museum in Sheffield yesterday to film me reading my short story The Red Lake sitting in the plastic igloo of their Arctic gallery. To be part of the Hallam Uni creative writing magazine Matter 11 website. The old polar bear I borrrowed in the '80s for an exhibition on Sir John Franklin has passed on to a better life, and has been replaced by Snowy and two model cubs.
Then on to Blackwells for a short story-fest to celebrate International Short Story Day (shortest night). Read The Mitten which is being published by Writing East Midlands in next Thursday's Lincolnshire Echo.
